Thanks for the comments. My issue is not with the idea that our natural resources should be protected but rather with the means by which we do it. Banning exports is a problem for me. Controlling their flow through the use of tariffs is less obtrusive for the private concerns that own the product and can be manipulated as markets change.

I had him put down the end of October because he was no longer having a good quality of life. I miss him terribly but remind myself that he is with his Poppy (my father, they were great buds) now.
