A bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) would require a comprehensive review of fuels containing more than 10% ethanol before they're allowed in the marketplace.

By a vote of 19-7, the bill was approved by a House committee on science, space and technology. Sensenbrenner chairs the committee.

Makers of small engines, especially, have said scores of their products could be ruined if consumers use a fuel mix that contains more than 10% ethanol - a corn-based fuel additive used in most gasoline.

The last thing we need is to be sticking more ethanol in our cars. No thanks, no thanks.

I agree with PathfinderSC, we should have the choice of what to put in our vehicles. If I had the choice, all I would put in is pure gasoline!

These are the fools who forces Ultraow Su7lphur Diesel on Americsn Con sumers. 2007 and later Vehicles may have injection pumps hardened to survive longer without the l;ubrication that Sulphur provides. My 2007 VW died suddenly the injection pump wopre outat only 100,000 Miles.Gov't tampering with the food supply of our cars taking away SulphurDiesels need and increasing Alcohol levels for all so in cars not designed for E85 or more than 5 or 10% sure to caiuse car cancer of the fuel injection system!

This is the first step in *finally* doing the right thing and putting the corn lobbyists in their place. At last, there is forward movement towards getting rid of something that only lowered vehicle mpg's and ruined small engines.

This is a good start! One step closer to 5% ethanol and eventually no ethanol.

WFTV Ch 9 in Orlando, Fl. found mixtures well above the 'up to 10%' allowed now. How much more will they mix in if this passes?

They need to do reasearch on fuel mileage with NO ethanol in the gas. They talk about these high fuel mileage numbers they want to see. Lets get back to real gas and get started in that direction!
